About
"Vern" was whelped May 31, 2004. At 4 months of age he pointed and held steady on his first bird. When the bird was shot over him, he retrieved it to hand! Vern started running in AKC Hunt Tests when he was just over 1 year old. He received his Junior Hunt Title with 4 consecutive "Passes".
In March 2006 Vern was awarded simultaneously the Titles of "Trialer" and "
Champion Trialer" by the UKC
In April 2006 He was awarded "Champion of the Field" (CHF) by the UKC.
In Oct 2006 Vern traveled to France where he was the FIRST American Bred Epagneul Breton to receive a C.A.C.T
On March 9, 2008 Vern placed first in the FBGDA National Wild Bird Couples Trial in Salina Kansas, thus be awarded Grand Champion of the Field (GrCHF)
On February 9, 2009 Vern placed First in the FBGDC of Georgia, Open Liberated Bird Trial
Vern has recieved the Title of "Champion" in the show ring with UKC
Vern has recieved his "Senior Hunter" from AKC
Vern is a very intense hunter. He is no nonsense in the field, and while trialing in France, Judges would consistently comment that while some dogs are very good with the mechanics of hunting, Vern REALLY Hunts!
Vern has had his hips certified by the OFFA as "Good"
