This video shows the sequence of events from Vern getting
out of the trailer, through retrieving the bird back to hand.
Vern will "coulee" to the bird on my command. A coulee is where the dog moves
forward, from point, on command.
The dog must stop when either he recognizes he can go no further without the
bird flushing, or the bird flushes.

Vern being Judged by Reynald Lefebvre in Muscatine Iowa. The bird that was shot
was hit very hard, feathers were everywhere. So it took Vern a little bit to
locate the actual bird. As Vern was coming back with the bird, Judge Lefebvre
commented " I wonder what part of the bird he is bringing back?". When Vern was
back and I took the bird from him, I asked Judge Lefebvre " Is the bird fit for
the table?" as the dog is not allowed to damage the bird. Judge Lefebvre replied
"The bird is fit for hamburger!"
